I have over 10 years experience working in mental health, qualifying as a therapist in 2019. I have worked in various settings including residential and supported living for autism, mental health and complex needs, NHS talking therapies and inpatient psychiatric services, with both adults and children.
I am a father of one and adopt a life is too short to live the same day twice philosophy, which is a fancy way of saying my brain gets bored (neurodiversity at its finest) easily, I am a perfectionist and I am fascinated by trying new things and challenging myself. I use such life experiences and therapy knowledge to enhance my practice, relate to others and help others to break down barriers to staying present and overcoming symptoms of anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem and trauma.
My style is relaxed and prioritises building a sound therapeutic relationship with clients before rushing into interventions. I aim to validate, to challenge, to regulate and to teach, whatever a person needs in that moment to achieve their therapy goals.
I tell all my clients the same thing - when I work with someone, their problem becomes my problem and side by side we tackle it together. I am passionate about what I do and arrive to each session prepared, motivated and committed to providing the best possible service.
I aim to use my website and social media platform to share insight into me, the person, in the hope that I can cut through some of the noise online of therapists selling the same idea. If there is something here you see, relate to or even just like the look of, odds are we will get along- which is ultimately the most important thing in therapy.
